Ruby 'Effie' Lawson

Ruby “Effie” Lawson, age 90 of Weyauwega, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at Bethany Home in Waupaca. Effie was born to the late Ashley and Arletta (Clouse) Garland on June 17, 1930, in Gray, Kentucky. She was united in marriage to Samuel Paul Lawson on July 19, 1948, in Lily, Kentucky. Effie was a wonderful wife, mother, friend, and cook. Her apple pies are legendary. She was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed quilting, crocheting and sewing “corn bags” for her friends and family. She loved planting flowers and always had a vegetable garden. Effie was deeply involved with her church and loved music.

Effie is survived by her husband, Paul; her children, Teri (Tim) Connelly of Dubuque, IA, Lori Lawson (Doug Stelzner) of Weyauwega and Eva (Morgan) Kranski of Neenah; six grandchildren, Sara, Molly, Sam, Jon, Adam and Joe and her twin sister, Ethel Slusher. She is further survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and special friends.

Effie was preceded in death by her parents and two daughters, Marcia and Lisa.

Funeral services for Effie will be held at a later date.
