Mary Ann 'Cookie' Jossie

March 7, 1945 — December 15, 2020

Mary Ann ("Cookie") Jossie, age 75, died at ThedaCare Appleton on December 15, 2020 with her family by her side. She was born March 7, 1945 to the late Rhinehart and Joyce Radies in New London, WI. On September 11, 1965, she married Leroy ("Buzz") Jossie at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Marion, WI. Buzz and Cookie had two kids, Tammy (Steve) Pethke, and Jon (Jennifer) Jossie, who blessed them with three grandchildren, Zach Pethke, Megan Pethke and her fiance Mike Prill, and Bradon Jossie. Anyone who knew Cookie knew she was involved in many aspects of life, including her family, church, and friends. She enjoyed cooking for the family, and always left "Grandma's Cafe" open to her grand kids. Cookie also enjoyed going out to eat on Friday nights, following her family's baseball team the Little Falls Loggers as well as played softball herself, bus trips to Brewer Games, and playing cards with family and friends.

She worked at Glen Cairn Golf Course for over 20 years where she showcased her green thumb when it came to working with flowers and lawns. She also loved bird watching to a point where she even had a heated bird bath for them in the winter. Cookie was the number one fan of High Lonesome Country, which consisted of family, including the lead singer, her granddaughter Megan. Camping on the Willow Flowage became a favorite pastime to Cookie and her family during the summer months. It gave her great joy to be able to help, and look out for others. For many years, polka dancing was a major part of Cookie and Buzz's life. Cookie will always be remembered for her personality and wit.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years along with her children and grandchildren. Cookie is also survived by siblings: Jim (Karen) Faehling, Bill (Karen) Radies, Jerry (Sharon) Radies, Sue (Tom) Opperman, Ray Radies, Ron Radies, Margie (Dave) Schmidt. Sister in-law Lola (Gary) Bonikowske, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Rhinehart and Joyce Radies, in-laws: Roy and Mildred Jossie, two sisters: Karen Gullixson and Violet Steinbach, brother in-law: Dick Gullixson, sister in-law: Joanne Radies, niece: Jackie Fischer.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the health care workers at ThedaCare New London and also ThedaCare Appleton especially Roger and Dr.Belluge. A special thank you to a very good friend and neighbor Dr. Dave Schultz, who we fondly call (Dave). We will forever be grateful to them.
