Joseph “Joe” Thoma, age 49, of Manawa, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at his home, with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 25, 1969 in Clintonville, son of Elroy and Beverly (Guyette) Thoma. Joe graduated from New London High School in 1987. He loved hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Kim; daughters: Shelby Jo Thoma (Jacob Frenche), Courtney Dean (Mike Wronski) Torrie Reynolds; step sons: Jeremy Stichman (Kyle Allen), Philip (Crystal) Stichman, Michael (Alicia) Stichman; grandchildren: Jameson, Jordan, Jurnee and Connor; his mother Beverly Thoma; siblings: Elroy (Kim) Thoma, Jeff (Krystle) Thoma, Todd (Chris) Thoma and Wendy (Matt) Leeman; mother-in-law: Sheri Krueger (Charles Kutchenriter); godchildren: Carlie (Zach) Wilson, Kasey (Tiffany) Thoma, Tyler Zehren, Brandon Thoma, Brandi Blum, Dominic Thoma and Maycie Brooks; close friends: Randy, Tony, Eric and Lance; also his best dog pal Cooper. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Elroy Thoma; sister Carla Heidger; father-in-law Marlin Krueger; step son Kristofor Stichman and great niece Olivia Wilson.
A memorial service for Joe will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at noon at the Cline- Hanson-Dahlke Life Celebration Center of Manawa. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Sunday at the Celebration Center from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Joe’s family wants you to be dressed casually either in camo or his favorite color blue. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at First State Bank under the Joe Thoma Benefit.
