Dorothy M. Long

Dorothy M. (Burns) Long, age 79, of Racine, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 25, 2018, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Dorothy was born in Port Washington, WI on October 17, 1938 to the late William and Ruth (Nettleton) Burns. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Milwaukee and was a long-time resident of Racine. Dorothy was a loving and caring woman that focused on her children and grandchildren as well as close friends. Dorothy will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Dorothy leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Valerie (Kevin) Brau of Fremont, WI; son Dan (Krista) Long of Racine; grandchildren, Ashley (Jason) Cermak of Minneapolis, MN, Brittany Peterson of Salt Lake City, UT, Andrew Long of Palo Alto, CA, and Adam Long of Racine; great-grandchildren, Winsley and Ellis Cermak and other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her twin sister, Delores (Burns) Marsh and sister Betty (Cliff) Pischke. A private celebration of Dorothy’s life will take place at a later date. The family has suggested memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association, Racine Lutheran High School or one’s favorite charity.
