David Lee Gunderson

David L. Gunderson, age 54, passed away on June 19, 2017. David was born on November 16, 1962, to Marie and Earl Gunderson and spent all of his life in the Manawa area.

David spent 36 years working in the Manawa School District and enjoyed his time spent with the students and staff. Everywhere he went, David found himself in conversation with someone he knew. He was always willing to help anyone that expressed a need with a helping hand or kind words. David enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing horseshoe, and spending time with his family. He was a loving and caring father, brother, uncle, and friend.

David leaves behind 2 beautiful children, Joshua (fiancé Stefanie Thorsen) and Katelyn Thyssen-Gunderson; 6 siblings: Kay (Larry) Rekoske, Daisy Gunderson, Helen (Ralph) Nabbefeld all of Appleton, Merl Gunderson of Clintonville, Jack (Donna) Gunderson of Ogdensburg, Edna (Jerry) Van Eyck of Weyauwega. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding David in death is his mother Marie Gunderson; also a sister Mary Gunderson.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate David’s life will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 2-6 p.m. at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa. There will not be a formal service for David and casual attire is encouraged.
