Anthony Stephen Jecevicus

January 27, 1939 — February 11, 2016

Anthony (Tony) Stephen Jecevicus 77, resident of Big Falls, WI, since the 1960's, passed away at his home on Thursday February 11, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Tony was born on January 27, 1939, Grayslake, IL, the 2nd of 11 children born to the late John Joseph and Anne (Steponavich) Jecevicus. Tony left home at the age of 16 to begin his life adventures. He was proud of having worked for Tempel Farms caring for the Tempel Lipizzans in Old Mill Creek, IL. Tony worked with his brothers in the sheet metal business, was a long haul truck driver as well as a driver for Mike's Cycle Shop in Menasha, WI. Before his retirement Tony was a crane operator and Supervisor for CR Meyer.
Tony enjoyed racing his BMW's at (KK) Wisconsin International Raceway; known as (Big Tony) he played Badger Amateur Baseball for Little Falls. In 1988 Tony designed, patented fishing lures and opened Tony's Toppers Inc., fishing and hunting were his passions in life, in the 1980's he participated in many Bass Masters National Tournaments with well known professional anglers, along with a number of local Walleye tournaments. Tony loved hunting and fishing with his children and was a mentor to many more.
He is survived by six children: Cathy (Tony) Schmidt, Kelly Jecevicus-Varner, Anthony (Becca) Jurek, Samantha Huddleston, Stephanie Jecevicus and Tony Jr. (Jenna Weir) Jecevicus; four brothers: Peter (Renee) Jecevicus, William (Jan) Jecevicus, Charles (Rita) Jecevicus and Michael (Debbie) Jecevicus, four sisters: Patricia Carlson, Mary-Anne (Carl)Thompson, Judith Jecevicus and Suzanne (Jim) Jecevicus. Tony is further survived by twelve grandchildren: Casey, Erin, Bill, Christopher, Jessie, Damien, Devon, Jade, Gabriel, Dakota, Taylor and Anthony and seven great-grandchildren: Gillian, Milo, Jackson, Zoe, Dillon, Katlynn, Jesselynn and Brooklyn and also many friends and a very special ex-sister-in-law, Jackie Mayer.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Julia Gutherie, a brother John Joseph Jr., three nephews and a niece.
A private family service was held for Tony. Interment will be in the spring in the Big Falls Cemetery, Big Falls, WI; were he “Can forever view his house on the hill”.
