Sylvia M. Wenaas

Sylvia M. Wenaas (Jensen) age 95 of Manawa, WI passed away at Living Oaks Assisted Living Center in Iola, WI on October 13, 2018. She was born on September 20, 1923 in Manawa, daughter of the late Edwin and Elsie (Voss) Jensen.

Sylvia graduated from Little Wolf High School in 1941 and Oshkosh Business College in 1942. She was employed by the The Four Wheel Drive Auto Company, Edison Wood Products, Trackson Company (Caterpillar), and General Motors Corporation. While employed with GM, some of the projects she worked on were Bomb Navigation System; THOR missile at several sights in England; MACE (Milwaukee plant); TITAN II missile in Little Rock, AR; APOLLO Spacecraft, Downey, CA; Lunar Rover Vehicle and Computer R&D, Santa Barbara, CA. She retired in October 1980 from AC Electronics, Santa Barbara.

She was an avid bridge player and loved to travel. Sylvia was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Manawa.

She is survived by her sister, Rita (Everett) Schefelker, Manawa; nephews Perry (Diane) Schefelker, Centralia, IL; Jeffrey (Joanne) Schefelker, Black River Falls, WI; Russell Schefelker, Manawa; niece Judy (Don) Daley; Oshkosh, WI. She was further survived by great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Sylvia was preceded in death by parents and brother Harold Jensen.

The funeral service for Sylvia will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Manawa, on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. with Pastors Nathan Reichle and Vilas Mazemke officiating. Family and friends are invited to visit directly at church Thursday morning from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery, Town of Little Wolf.
