Merlyn (Merle) Morack, age 62, Lodi, WI passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on Thursday January 5, 2006. Merle was born in New London, WI on June 12, 1943 to the late Milton and Marjorie (Miller) Morack. He married Mary Ann Ehrhardt on September 30, 1967. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter Marlene (Paul) Sharkey, Lodi, WI, and a son Dr. Michael (Tricia) Morack, Blue Springs, MO; four grandchildren, Briana and Kaitlyn Sharkey, Alex and Emma Morack; two sisters Marceita Knaack, and Marybeth (Earl) Wohlrabe, New London, and a brother Michael, Weyauwega; sisters in-law and brothers-in law, John and Sandra Smith, Weyauwega, and Paul and Shirley Beasley, Thorton, CO.; his aunts, Phyllis Neuschafer, Fremont, Valoise (Swede) Meyers, Appleton; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Merle graduated from New London High School in 1961. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he attended UW-Madison and graduated in 1970. His career involved Electrical Engineering and Marketing positions in manufacturing companies, and for the last 7 years owned Management Recruiters of Lake Wisconsin in Lodi. He was a faithful member of the Lodi United Methodist Church and Lodi Optimist Club. His devotion to his church, family and friends, and willingness to work hard to help others will always be remembered by those who loved him. He had a thirst for knowledge, a sense of adventure for living, and a positive outlook on life; and the proof was in his strength for his family, love of nature and support of patriotism. In his later years, his enjoyment came from the blessings of grandparenting. He encouraged their questions. Merle will be remembered in a service at Hope United Church of Christ, 8950 Alpine Rd., Fremont, on Wednesday January 11, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Janice L. Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Wolf River Cemetery in the spring. The family will greet friends at the church Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Church or American Legion of your choice, or the American Heart Association.
