Age 100, of Manawa, died on Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at the Manawa Community Nursing Center. Edna Emilie was born on December 30, 1907 in Pella, Wisconsin daughter of the late Will & Annie (Yordi) Cronce. She was baptized on April 5, 1908 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pella and confirmed at the Shawano Methodist Church in 1921. On June 28, 1931, she married Erwin R. Piotter at the Shawano Methodist Church. They resided in Manawa and she became a member of Zion Lutheran Church in September, 1931. Erwin and Edna were employed and later owners of Piotter's General Store, retiring in 1969. She was a member of the Women of the ELCA and a charter member of Zion Fellowship. She was also a charter member of the Manawa Federated Women's Club and the Manawa Senior Citizens Club. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Roache, Rapid City, SD and three nieces who became part of her family following the death of their parents in an auto accident in 1945. They are Shirley Bradway, St. Paul, MN; Glennace Rocker, Park Forest, IL; Joanne (Thomas) Beck, Minnesota City, MN; two nephews, Roger (Audrey) Cronce, Casa Grande, AZ; Miles (Doreen) Cronce, Theodosia, MO; three grandchildren: Roger (Dallys), and Boyd (Gina) Thorson, Diane (Pat) Rensch; seven great-grandchildren: a brother-in-law: Henry Seeger, Irvine, CA; sister-in-law: Florice Germann, Walnut Creek, CA; nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and grand nephews. Besides her parents and husband Erwin, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Glenn Cronce. A memorial service for Edna will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Manawa with Rev. Blaine Niskanen officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery, Town of Little Wolf. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Elevator Fund.
